Biography
I was born in Villedieu les Poêles (Normandy). During my first year in high school, I was traumatized by the destruction of the reproduction of Bernard Buffet’s « Tête de Clown » that I had painted in middle school. I loved painting and yet it was 35 years until I picked up a brush again.
A Christmas present changed my life : brushes, tubes of paint, canvases and a lot of kindness. It wasn’t long until I rediscovered the pleasure of creating. My daily life was disrupted by my overflowing creative energy – painting became essential to my well-being.
Acrylics is my prefered medium, and I began to use various materials to create texture on the canvas. Then an encounter with a cord gave birth to a series of monochrome paintings in which I experimented with texture to give the canvas a second skin. Acrylic and mortar merge with the canvas.
Rhythm fluctuates according to the mortar placed along the way. Large canvases are my favorite, they leave more space for the cord to weave. Its movement is also influenced by the music that accompanies me during my creation process.
My first encounter with the public happened in October 2020 during a one-week exhibition in Caen, during which my work provoked emotions and received a warm welcome. It allowed me to witness the power of the vibration felt by the spectator in front of a monochrome. Since then I have organized and participated in several other exhibitions.
